The following is a list of the “ABC’s” of Christianity. If we will faithfully incorporate the practical thoughts presented in this list into our daily lives, we will see dramatic results in our Christian walk.
A Native American and his friend were in downtown New York City, walking near Times Square. It was during the noon lunch hour and the streets were filled with people. Cars were honking their horns, taxicabs were squealing around corners, sirens were wailing, and the sounds of the city were almost deafening. Suddenly, the Native American said, “I hear a cricket.” His friend said, “What? You must be crazy. You couldn’t possibly hear a cricket in all this noise!” “No, I’m sure of it,” the Native American said, “I heard a cricket.” “That’s crazy,” said the friend.

God wants us to be happy, have peace and joy, and achieve the purpose for which He gave us life. God wants us to be successful and He gives us everything we need in order to make that happen.
The Bible, God's word (our blueprint), tells us that the Christian life is the only way to gain real success and the best part is that the world cannot take it from us!
Prayer is the privilege we have to communicate with God, the Father, the Almighty Creator of the Universe. WOW! And what's more, He wants us to come to Him in prayer. It's mind-blowing when you think about it. Philippians 4:6 tells us to "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God."
James has been called the "How-To" book for practical,Christian living. It's easy-to-understand language and relevant subject matter is as applicable today as it was the day it was written.
In this short book, James describes several qualities that identify a true and genuine faith, and how that faith works in the real world.
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus” Colossians 3:17
In spite of this admonition by the apostle Paul to the Colossian Christians, there seems to be a tendency among us today to divide our daily living into two categories: 1) every day living and work and 2) Christian living and doing the Lord’s work.
This was once expressed to me by a friend as each one having two hats: an every day hat to be worn all week and a religious one to be worn on Sundays and at other times when we are engaged in “church work”. These ideas seem foreign to what Paul wrote to the Colossians and to the Corinthian Christians:
“…whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
